Wowmen Group Turns 7 — What We've Learned
Seven years of building community, hosting events, and lifting each other up. Here are our biggest lessons.
Seven years ago, Wowmen Group started as a WhatsApp group of twelve women who were tired of networking events that felt transactional and hollow.
We wanted something different: a space where women could be honest about their fears, their ambitions, and the specific exhaustion of trying to hold everything together.
Today we are more than 10,000 members across Indonesia. We have hosted over 50 events. We have watched members find business partners, best friends, and — in more than a few cases — themselves.
Here is what seven years has taught us:
Community is not built through content. It is built through presence. The WhatsApp blast matters less than the person who shows up with tissues when someone is having a hard night.
Growth is not the goal. Depth is. We have had years where our numbers grew slowly and our community grew strong. We have had years where we scaled fast and felt thin. The second kind were harder.
Women do not need to be empowered by us. They are already powerful. Our job is to clear the room of everything that makes them forget it.
Thank you for being here. For seven years. For every event you attended, every story you shared, every time you showed up for a stranger who became a sister.
Here is to many more.
